In an old yearbook, one of my English teachers once wrote, "The bumps in the road will only be smoothed out by you." I've often wondered exactly what she meant by those words, but today, as I work on my current literary project and other writing projects for clients across the country, I think I finally understand her meaning.

I think that my teacher was inspired to write what

she wrote because she knew that I was a writer—that I would become a writer—and as such, would face a myriad of creative and professional challenges that I would likely have to tackle on my own. After all, there is no way to learn how to write other than by doing it, and no way to make a living at it that doesn't require that you keep learning how to make a living at it.

As you peruse this website, you'll discover that like many other creative people, I use my skills in a variety of ways for a variety of purposes. As a poet and essayist, I strive to write with the honesty, sensitivity, empathy, and courage I believe is required to make a positive impact on others. As a ghostwriter, copywriter, editor, and marketing consultant, I serve my clients to the best of my ability, and hope that in doing so, I am helping them to improve their businesses, lives, the lives of their employees, and the communities which they influence.

I understand the power of words, and what they can accomplish when used rightly and wisely. I therefore try to tackle every writing project, whether literary or business-oriented, with a high degree of integrity.
